Booking Terms and Conditions

1. Who you are booking with

Your accommodation is supplied by Giney's View 8 Unit (trading name), Rua de Outubro, Vilanculos, Mozambique ("Giney's View", "we", "us"). Bookings and payments are handled on our behalf by Beachfront Bookings, acting as booking and payment agent. Your contract for the stay is with Giney's View 8 Unit; Beachfront Bookings processes your payment securely through PayFast and appears on your payment records. Business registration and tax details, where applicable, are shown on your invoice once registered.

2. Your booking

• A booking exists only once we confirm it in writing (email) after your qualifying payment is verified. A reservation hold or an unpaid checkout is not a booking.
• The lead guest must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate contact details, and is responsible for the conduct of every guest in the party.
• Each Unit sleeps a maximum of 8 overnight guests. Only registered guests may stay overnight.
• Prices are quoted and charged in South African Rand (ZAR). Any other currency shown on the website is an estimate for convenience only.

3. Payment

• 50% accommodation deposit confirms your booking.
• The remaining balance is due 14 days before arrival.
• Bookings made within 14 days of arrival require 100% payment at the time of booking.
• A refundable breakage deposit of R2,000 is collected with your qualifying payment and is governed by the Payment and Breakage Deposit Policy.
• Optional services (for example mid-stay cleaning at R400 per service, early check-in or late checkout at R500 each, subject to approval and availability) are payable as quoted at checkout or during your stay.
• If the balance is not received by its due date after our reminders, we may treat the booking as cancelled under the Cancellation and Refund Policy.

4. Changes and cancellation

Cancellations and refunds are governed by the Cancellation and Refund Policy version you accepted at checkout, which is stored with your booking and shown in your guest account. Date-change requests are handled at our discretion and depend on availability and any price difference.

5. Arrival, departure and house rules

Check-in is from 14:00 and checkout by 10:00 (Africa/Maputo time). Your stay is subject to the Accommodation and House Rules and the Arrival and Departure Policy you accept at checkout. Serious breaches (for example unauthorised parties or exceeding overnight occupancy) may result in termination of the stay without an accommodation refund.

6. Your responsibilities

You agree to treat the Unit, common areas and staff with care and respect, to report damage promptly, to supervise children at all times, and to comply with applicable local laws. You are liable for damage beyond normal wear and tear, which may be deducted from the breakage deposit or charged where costs exceed it. Where identification documents are required for check-in or local guest registration, they are handled under the Privacy Notice and are normally deleted within 30 days after checkout.

7. Our responsibilities and limits

We will provide the Unit materially as described on this website. Where we cannot (for example serious plumbing failure), we will offer a comparable Unit, new dates, or a refund of unused nights. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control (weather, utility or network interruptions, travel disruption) or for guests' personal property or vehicles. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Documents that form your agreement

The Cancellation and Refund Policy, Accommodation and House Rules, Payment and Breakage Deposit Policy, Arrival and Departure Policy, Child and Infant Safety Policy and Privacy Notice form part of these terms. The exact versions you accept are recorded with your booking and remain downloadable from your account.

9. Law and disputes

The accommodation agreement and your stay are governed by the laws of Mozambique, where the property is located. Payment-processing services provided by Beachfront Bookings, as booking and payment agent, may additionally be subject to applicable South African law and the payment provider's (PayFast's) terms — this applies to the payment service only, not to the accommodation itself. If something goes wrong, contact us first — we resolve almost everything directly and in good faith.
